Second Division

Nouns ending in -i

These nouns are either masculine or neuter. They can be declined using the endings of either Pattern A or Pattern B. (Exceptions are in bold below.) In endings that start with a short vowel (a), the short vowel is replaced by i. In endings that start with a long vowel (e or ā), the long vowel is replaced by ī.

These nouns are either masculine or neuter. They can be declined using the endings of either Pattern A or Pattern B. (Exceptions are in bold below.) In endings that start with a short vowel (a), the short vowel is replaced by u. In endings that start with a long vowel (e or ā), the long vowel is replaced by ū.
